Nancy was the youngest of six children of Willie Lewis and Emma Puckett Chaney and was born and raised in Halifax County, VA. She was a wife, mother, homemaker, and long-time church member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church.
Always enjoying socializing and going places, she stayed busy with the three girls and husband. As the girls left home and her husband passed, Nancy worked for The United Way in Danville until her retirement and was a long-time member of the Danville Chapter of ABWA.
Desiring a warmer climate and wanting to be closer to her daughters, Nancy moved to Longs, SC in 2015. Then in 2023, she chose Florida as her home. At the time of her death, Nancy was a resident of The Gallery at North Port in North Port, FLA. At her request, graveside services for her family will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Boston VA on July 19, 2025.
