Nancy Lee Conner Owen

Nancy Lee Conner Owen of Scottsburg passed away December 11, 2025 at the blessed age of 93. She was born in Halifax County on August 3, 1932 to the late Willis Thomas Conner and the late Minnie Brown Wilbourn Conner. She was married to the late Robert Eugene “Gene” Owen.

Nancy was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved her home and her family and took pride in being the family’s matriarch. Nancy was a seamstress, fond of her cats, and dearly loved her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Donna Joanne O. Smith (Kenny) of Clover, Cindy Lee O. Wilborne (Larry) of Scottsburg; four grandchildren, Robbie Compton (Nicole), Kevin Compton, Crystal Brown (Justin), Chad Wilborne and Kris Smith (Taylor); and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her siblings, Earl Thomas Conner, Betty Conner Saunders, and Hazel Conner Reid.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Sean McGuire officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at 2053 Burton Rd., Scottsburg.
