Mr. Ned Swanson Ingram of South Boston passed away on February 11, 2026 at the blessed age of 93. He was born in Halifax County on May 10, 1932 to the late Letcher Ingram and the late Josephine Osborne Ingram. He was married to his beloved late wife of sixty-one years, Lurlene Annette Riddle Ingram.
He was a member of Berry Hill Presbyterian Church. Ned was a retired Building Inspector with the Town of South Boston after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid golfer, in younger years he rode motorcycles, enjoyed NASCAR Racing, gardening, reading and sitting on his porch swing. His passing will leave a void to all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lynn Ingram Hall (David) of Greensboro, NC, Tina Ingram Powell (Greg) of Mount Ulla, NC and Kimberly Ingram (Shawn Hudson) of South Boston; four grandchildren, Katie Miller (Matt), of Raleigh, NC, Justin Hall of Greensboro, NC, Gabby Shelton of South Boston and Nick Shelton of South Boston; two great grandchildren, Quinn and Reid Miller.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2:00 P.m. at Berry Hill Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Harvey Spencer officiating
The family will receive friends on Monday, immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
