Paul Thomas Tingen

Paul Thomas Tingen of Java, VA passed away on July 24, 2026 at the age of 29. He was born in Halifax County on April 25, 1997 to James Tingen and April Comer Tingen Conner (Roger) who survive.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. Paul enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and was a member of River Hill Hunt Club. He loved to joke, smoking meat on his smoker, running his deer dogs, but most of all spending time with his children.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his children, Emmory Tingen of Blackstone, Wyatt Tingen of Clover; siblings, Sydney Tingen of South Boston and A.J. Tingen of Sutherlin; stepsiblings, Cayla Reinhard and Colson Reinhard both of Sutherlin; maternal grandmother, Linda Comer Hart of Java; maternal grandfather, Garry Comer of Nathalie; host of nieces, nephew, aunt and uncles. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Paul T. Tingen and Ann Lewis Tingen.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd McClure officiating. Burial to follow in the Wiles Family Cemetery in Sutherlin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
