Randy Alan Ingram, of Garden City, SC and formerly of South Boston, passed away at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrell’s Inlet, SC, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born in South Boston on August 16, 1947, to the late Hillis E. Ingram and Irene Pruett Ingram.
He grew up on Berry Hill Road and was a graduate of Halifax County High School and Danville Community College. He worked for Westinghouse Corporation, Universal Leaf Tobacco Co., and Puryear Trucking before retiring.
Randy served as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the infantry in Vietnam 1969 – 1970. He enjoyed riding Harleys, good food, number puzzles, and living life to the fullest. He was first a member of Berry Hill Presbyterian Church and later Ashland Church of God, where he attended online services due to his health issues. He also enjoyed attending Rev. Thad Decker’s weekly Bible studies online.
Randy is survived by his wife Lisa H. Ingram of Garden City, SC; stepdaughters Brandy Eastwood of Danville and Melissa Dix of MD; sisters Vicky I. Cliborne and husband Jimmy of Halifax and Faye I. Hankins and husband Sam of Edisto Island, SC; Uncle Ned S. Ingram and wife Lurlene of South Boston; nephew Spencer C. Hankins of Georgetown, KY; and eight step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Berry Hill Presbyterian Church, 1589 Berry Hill Church Rd., South Boston, VA 24592.
