Ray Alexander Smith

Ray Alexander Smith of South Boston, VA passed away December 18, 2019.  He was born in Mt. Airy, NC on December 24, 1941 and was 77 years of age. He was the son of the late George P. Smith and the late Maggie S. Smith. He was married to the late Adeline Powell Smith.

He was of the Presbyterian faith. Ray was a United States Army Veteran after serving during the Vietnam Era. He retired from Virginia State Police after many years of dedicated service and was also a member of the American Legion Post 8.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Stuart Cemetery, Chestnut Ave., Stuart, VA with the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2019 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home, Stuart, VA.
