Ray Glazener Williams, 78 of South Boston passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025 with his family by his side. He was a devoted and loving husband to Jo Anne Toombs Williams for 53 years.
He was born in Farmville VA on December 15, 1946 to the late George Connie Williams and the late Ola Glazener Williams of Chase City. Ray was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church and proudly served in the United States Army. He was a graduate from the Nashville Auto-Diesel College in Nashville, TN.
Ray retired after many years of dedicated service to Estes Express Lines as Vice President of the Fleet Services. He loved camping, RVing, woodworking, yard work and spending time at Myrtle Beach. His greatest joy was his family, and his passing will leave a void.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Jo Anne T. Williams; his son, David Ray Williams (Ashley) of Irmo, SC; two grandchildren, Ava and Caleb Williams; one brother, George Lester Williams (Annette) of North Chesterfield; sister-in-law, Shirley Toombs Wood and her daughter Amy T. Gregory; and nephew, Christopher George Williams of North Chesterfield.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Beth Car Baptist Church with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at his home.
