Rebecca Nicholson Schroeder

Rebecca (“Becky”) Nicholson Schroeder, 69, of South Boston, Virginia passed away at Duke University Hospital on July 6, 2022, following complications from heart surgery. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her family, including her beloved husband of 41 years Steve Schroeder, son Dr. Nick Schroeder, daughter Dr. Courtney Schroeder, and sister Martha Nicholson of Sterling, Virginia.

Becky was born in Durham, NC and was the daughter of Myrtle and Virgil Nicholson. One of the biggest accomplishments of her life was being a loving and devoted mother of two successful children. Her son, Nick, is an endodontist in Richmond, Virginia where he lives with his wife Erica, son Logan, and a second son on the way. Her daughter, Courtney, is an Assistant Professor and research scientist at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she lives with her husband Spencer Myers.

Becky was always selfless in her actions, a reliable friend, an amazing cook and artist, who had a sweet and humorous personality that touched many lives throughout her life, with a smile that lit the room. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in our hearts and we are certain we will be in her presence again.
