Robert Paul Lockner, 50, of South Boston, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born on December 29, 1975, in Farmville, Virginia, and was the son of Roy Hawkins and the late Rhonda Lockner Hawkins. He was the grandson of Wanda “Jean” Lockner.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca “Beckie” Hazelwood Lockner; his children, Rebekah “Nicole” Baker (Crevon) of Keysville, Virginia, and Ryan Lockner (Manda) of Williamsburg, Virginia; and his stepchildren, Charlotte Eggleston (J.R.), Shelby Moon (Daron), and Jacob Guill (Makayla). He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, Elaina, Tristan, Ava, Liana, Noah, Finn, Ernest “Ernie,” Harrison, Brody, Emmett, Bryson, and Briley.

In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Kelly Robertson (Joe), Brandy Holt (Nick), and Sherry Malcolm; his parents-in-law, James “Bumpsie” and Eva Hazelwood; his brother-in-law, Clint Hazelwood (Melissa); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his devoted and beloved dog, Diesel, who stayed faithfully by his side until the very end.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda Lockner Hawkins, and his grandfather, Paul S. Lockner, Sr.

Robert will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the love he shared with those around him. He had a steady presence that brought comfort to family and friends and lived his life with quiet resilience and unwavering dedication. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and made a lasting impact through his work, friendships, and the time he devoted to those he loved.

He enjoyed laughing, joking, fishing, riding to the park to look for deer, and eating ice cream. He took great pride in the relationships he built over the years. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Robert grew up in Keysville, Virginia, and attended McGhee’s Mill Baptist Church in Semora, North Carolina. While he accomplished many things in life, his greatest joy was his love for the Lord.
