Robert Beverly Millner

Robert Beverly Millner of Vernon Hill, VA passed away on August 3, 2026 at the age of 84. He was born in Halifax County on May 22, 1942 to the late Robert Millner and the late Lottie Montgomery Clay Millner. He was married sixty-three years to the late Ruth Raynor Millner.

He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a mechanic and retired from Tultex. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Beverly M. Sparks and husband Billy of Sutherlin, VA and Tony Millner of Vernon Hill; four grandchildren, Cody Sparks (Magin), Casey Sparks, Chris Sparks (Amber) and Justin Millner (Katie); six great grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Preston Millner; his siblings, Willie Clay, Johnnie Clay, Junior Clay, Silas Clay, Charlie Clay, Earl Clay, J.T. Clay, Owen Clay, Viola Crews, Virginia Shipp, Enolia Johnson, Pokie Bliss, Florine Clay Simpson and Joyce Millner Rodes.

A memorial service will be held August 15, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Spring Road Baptist Church, 2858 Spring Rd. Hurt, VA with the Rev. Ronnie Simpson officiating.

The family will receive friends on August 15, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of his daughter, Beverly, 1720 Kerns Church Rd, Sutherlin, VA 24594.
