Robert Douglas "Doug" Wilburn, Jr
Robert Douglas "Doug" Wilburn, Jr. of Asheville went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was born on October 3, 1939 in South Boston, VA.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Robert Douglas and Lola Compton Wilburn, and brother John Stevens Wilburn.
He graduated from University of VA and received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA. He worked for NASA on Apollo 16.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Becky Wilburn; niece and nephew Debra and Barry Wilburn.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Boston, VA.
