Rosalie Conner Bray

Rosalie Conner Bray - passed away on November 7, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Born on June 30, 1930 in Halifax, VA, Rosalie grew up in a close-knit family. She was the beloved daughter of the late James Walter Conner and Frances Irby "Fannie" Conner. Rosalie shared her childhood with her late siblings Garland Conner, Wiley Conner, Ruby Passalocqua, and Sylvia Purcell Corum. Also, her son-in-law Romulus Leary May, III.  She was married to the late Radford Covington Bray.

Rosalie was an active member of First Baptist Church of South Boston until she was no longer able to attend. Rosalie's devotion to her church was unwavering; she was always the first to arrive. Her faith served as a guiding light throughout her life.  Despite facing challenges along the way, Rosalie was a tenderhearted lady and down-to-earth throughout her life with plenty of spunk.  She dearly loved animals and gardening.

Rosalie's loving presence will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends. She is survived by her devoted daughter Dana B. May and Robert March, Jr of the home and her beloved dog, Luka.  Rosalie's siblings, Mary Ellen C. Holt and Sherman Conner (Gayle) of Clays Mill, also mourn the loss of their beloved sister.  In addition to her family, Rosalie leaves behind a close friend Carol Thomas and a host of nieces and nephews.

On November 9, 2023 the family and friends will meet at Halifax Memorial Gardens in South Boston to celebrate the life of Rosalie during a graveside service. The service will commence at 11:00 AM, with the ceremony being held at 3211 Halifax Rd, South Boston, VA 24592.
