Roy "Billy" Wilson Jones

Mr. Roy W. “Billy” Jones, 96, passed away on January 16, 2026. He was born in Halifax County to the late Obie Jones and Annie Ruth Burton Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Louise Jones, Charlie Henry Jones, Joe Jones and James Wesley Jones.

Billy was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Following his military service, he continued the proud trade of tobacco farming, which he learned at an early age from his parents. Billy also loved tending his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with others.

Billy is survived by a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held On Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
