Ruby Laughorn Newton

Ruby Laughorn Newton of Halifax, VA passed away April 15, 2024.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on September 4, 1938 to the late Howard Laughorn and the late Gracie Willborne and was 85 years old.  She was married to the late Garland Briggs Newton, Sr. 

She was an active member of North Fork Baptist Church and helped with the Dan River Baptist Samantha Doll Ministry as well as helping with the Good Samaritan.   Ruby enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved watching her grandchildren play sports.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, Apil 18, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Ballew officiating. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, immediately following the service and other times at the home of Keith and Christy Newton.
