Shelby Jean Duffey Francisco

Mrs. Shelby Jean Duffey Francisco of Scottsburg, Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at her home. She was born on July 25, 1944, in Halifax County, Virginia and was 81 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Bliss Duffey and the late Robert C. Duffey. She was married to the late Ronnie Forrest Francisco.

Mrs. Francisco was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church and a long time employee with Halifax County High School Bookkeeper. She enjoyed gardening and reading, and she spent much of her life living and working on a tobacco farm.

She is survived by one sister, Gladys D. Lacks of Clover; a host of nieces and nephews; two special friends, Nita Kerns of Vernon Hill and Phyllis Senter of Scottsburg; and a special friend who was like a son to her, Frankie Cheek (Kim) of Halifax.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret D. Lacks; one brother, Robert Duffey; and one nephew, Keith Lacks.

A private graveside will be held at a later date
