Shirley Womack Hastings

Mrs. Shirley Womack Hastings of Scottsburg, VA passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her home.  She was born December 14, 1934 in Halifax County, VA and was 84 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Shurley Womack and the late Julia Elizabeth Moore Womack.   She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.   Mrs. Shirley Womack Hastings is survived by: Her Children Kimberly Ann Hastings of Scottsburg John Thomas Hastings, Jr. and wife Brenda. of Clover Shelley Hastings Whitlow and husband Richard of Halifax Warren Joseph Hastings and wife Donna of Scottsburg Six Grandchildren John Thomas Hastings III and wife Sara of Alton Richard Allen Whitlow, Jr. and wife Samantha of South Boston Jennifer Hastings Crenshaw and husband Michael of South Boston Matthew Warren Hastings and wife Melanie of Aarons Creek Ashley Whitlow Gravitt and husband Shayne of Raleigh, NC Lindsey Hastings Prochaska and husband Michael of Wilmington, NC Great Grandchildren Erica Whitlow, Grace Whitlow, Jillian Hastings, Charlotte Gravitt, Oliva Gravitt, Maeve Prochaska, Jeremiah McBride, Austin Gens, Phoenix Whitlow, Peyton Crenshaw and Madisyn Crenshaw One brother, Randolph Womack Two sisters, Frances Hughes and Geneva Bates ***Preceded in death by*** One daughter, Bethsheba Hastings Four sisters, Florine Vaughan, Hilda Watts, Margaret Crenshaw and Barbara Weatherford Two brothers, Berkley Womack and George Louis Womack   Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bethel Baptist Church and other times at the home, 6093 Bethel Rd., Scottsburg, VA.   For memorials please consider a charity of your choice.
