Shirley Andrew Womack, Sr.

Shirley Andrew Womack, Sr., 84 of South Boston, VA passed away on December 2, 2023.  He was born in Halifax County on November 8, 1939 to the late Clarence Littleton Womack and the late Grace Darling Barksdale Womack.  He was married to Shelba Arthur Womack who survives.

He was a member of South Boston Church of God.  Shirley served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He worked for Fluor Daniel as an insulator for 20 years and loved carpentry work.  He truly was a “jack of all trades”.  Shirley was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  He especially loved birds and raised Quail and Dove, along with many other animals.  However, his greatest love was that of his family and will be missed greatly.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
