Silas Edward Baynes

Silas Edward Baynes passed away on September 8, 2026, at Duke University Hospital, just two days after his birth on September 6, 2026, at Duke University. Though his time on earth was brief, his life was deeply cherished, and he will be remembered with enduring love.

Silas was the beloved son of Stephen Hunter Baynes and Madison Mitchell Baynes. From the moment he entered the world, he was treasured by his family, and his memory will remain a lasting part of their lives.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Sunny Baynes; maternal Grandparents, Melanie Stanley of Columbia, NC and Joseph Mitchell of Boone, NC; paternal grandparents, Craig and Teresa Baynes of Scottsburg, VA, who carry forward the love they have for their grandson and the memory of the precious time they shared with him.

A memorial service to honor and remember Silas Edward Baynes will be held on September 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Long.
