Velda Knapp Sigley

Velda Elizabeth Knapp Sigley, 65, passed away on June 18, 2022. She was born on March 1, 1957, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.  The daughter of the late Ralph Norman Knapp and the late Etta Marie (Hevener) Knapp of Monterey, VA.  She was married to the late Roger Sigley.

She was a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church and attended Beth Car Baptist Church.  She graduated from Highland High School in Monterey, VA. She was an avid gardener, loved cooking and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds from her porch.

In addition to her late parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Fortner, and brother Kenneth A. Knapp.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Reginald Warren officiating.
