Virginia Ann Fisher

Virginia Ann Hendricks “Genga” Fisher 77, of Leda Grove Road, Nathalie passed away August 26, 2025 at Gretna Health and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by her husband of 55 years C. Sherman Fisher.

Born October 7, 1947 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late Elburn Howard Hendricks and Holmes West Hendricks. She was predeceased by her brothers, Hayden Thomas Hendricks and Howard Kyle Hendricks. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove and North Halifax Ladies Auxiliary, and a retired employee of Halifax County Public Schools. She enjoyed fishing, and baking and cooking dishes to share with family and friends. She found much joy in anything that involved her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, April F. Conner and husband Jody, Sherrie F. Hall and husband Barry, Cecil F. Hazelwood and husband Jonathan, all of Nathalie; six grandchildren, Madison Hall (Justin), Anna Grace Hall, Ethan Conner, Bryce Hazelwood, Wyatt Hazelwood, and Lilly Dawson all of Nathalie; one sister-in-law, Nancy J. Hendricks of Brookneal; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove by Rev. Zak Ford and Rev. W. Shelton Miles, III. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence. The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Republican Grove Building Fund, 4210 Leda Grove Rd, Nathalie, VA 24577 or North Halifax Volunteer Fire Department, 4201 Leda Grove Rd., Nathalie, VA 24577 or to a charity of your choice.
