Walter James Townley of South Boston, VA passed away July 21, 2022. He was born in Bland County, VA on July 18, 1946 and was 76 years of age. He was the son of the late Frank Townley and the late Edna Havens Townley. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Green Townley who survives. He attended Berry Hill Presbyterian Church. Walter worked and retired as Superintendent at Camp 23 Halifax Correctional Center. He was an avid baseball fan and will be remembered in love by all who knew him. Walter James Townley is survived by: His Wife Mary Elizabeth Townley of South Boston His Children Howell Townley of South Boston Glenda Ford and husband Troy of Crewe, VA Four Grandchildren Taylor M. Townley, Nina E. Ford, Chloe P. Loftis, and Maddox Reid Ford One Brother Sherman Townley and wife Wanda of Marion, VA Host of extended family and friends ***Preceded in death by*** Four brothers and six sisters A private graveside service will be held Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Berry Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
