William Edward "Billy" Cliborne, Jr.

William Edward “Billy” Cliborne, Jr. of South Boston passed away on September 16, 2026 at the age of 80. He was born in Halifax County, VA on April 28, 1946 to the late William Edward Cliborne, Sr. and the late Nannie Lucy Elliott Cliborne.

He was of the Baptist Faith. Billy lived life to the fullest and did so by fishing, playing pool, horseback riding but especially enjoyed visiting family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his partner, Ruth McGhee of South Boston; his daughters, Kimberly Cliborne of Lanexa, VA, Tammy Cliborne of Burlington, NC, Barbara Womack of South Boston, VA; granddaughter, Kayla Cliborne; great grandchildren, Trey Price, Ava Price, Dakota Price, Noah Price, and John Thomas Lee Lamb; brother-in-law, Wilson Reese; host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Reese.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Norman Talley officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
