William Judson “Jud” Conner of Halifax passed away on January 6, 2026 at the blessed age of 93. He was born in Scottsburg on March 8, 1932 to the late William Benjamin Conner and the late Mary Cornelia “Nellie” Tuck Conner. He was married for 67 years to Mollie “Louise” Yates Conner who survives.

Jud proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his military years he worked for Burlington Industries for over 40 years; he started as a machinist and later became an instructor. Jud believed in helping others and lived it to the fullest by always being ready to help his neighbors and his family. He was an avid reader, enjoyed lawn care and had a passion for raising vegetables.

In addition to his wife of 67 years he is survived by his sons, William C. Conner (Connie) and David J. Conner (Tamara); siblings, Howard Whitfield Conner (Dorothy), Joan Mary Melton (Bernie) and Edna Conner Noblin (Sterling); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Alton Conner, James Conner, and Virginia Conner Snead.

A celebration of life service will be held in Spring 2026, dates to be announced later.
