William Ferrell Shapard, affectionately known as Ferrell, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in Noblesville, Indiana, at the age of 84. Born February 1, 1942, in Halifax, Virginia, Ferrell was the beloved son of the late John Thomas "Jack" Shapard, Jr. and Mildred "Sue" Carr Shapard. He was married to the late Judy Ingram Shapard.

Those who knew Ferrell will remember a man with a strong work ethic, constant support, and love for his family and friends. His administrative career began with Shell Oil Company until their closing and later with the Coke-Cola Company until his retirement.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lisa Terry and her husband James of Noblesville, IN, and James Shapard of Charlotte, NC. Ferrell was a proud and loving grandfather to Andrew Terry, Chris Terry, Katherine Shapard, and Grayson Shapard. His brothers, David Shapard and wife Jean of Nathalie, VA and Tommy Shapard and wife Mary of Albany, GA, Ferrell also leaves behind his special friend Mary Lou Mills of Nathalie, VA.

A graveside service for Ferrell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 1, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Millstone, located at 1026 Millstone Church Trail, Nathalie, Virginia with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating.
