William Kenneth Womack

William Kenneth Womack of Sentara Woodview, South Boston, VA died on November 11, 2019.  Kenneth was born to John and Gracie Moore Womack on May 28, 1931 in Halifax County, Virginia.  He was 88 years of age at the time of his death. Kenneth was a member of Halifax Baptist Church.

William Kenneth Womack was the sole remaining member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Clarence Womack, Bernard Womack, and Claude Womack, and sisters Elizabeth Womack Landrum, Virginia Womack Davis, and Wilsie Womack McPeters. Kenneth is survived by his nieces and nephews.

A portion of Kenneth's employment was served as a prison guard at the Department of Corrections in Chatham, Virginia. The remainder of his career was devoted to being a self-employed country store merchant on Hwy. 360-West in Halifax, Virginia.

Kenneth was an avid hunter of quail, wild turkey, and grouse. He had a flare for antiques and also for collecting arrowheads. Kenneth enjoyed gospel and ol' time country music. Kenneth's favorite song was TRAMP ON THE STREET by Hank Williams, Sr., and his final request is that song be sung at his funeral. Kenneth had a passion for reading his family Bible and did so frequently until his eyesight failed him.

William Kenneth Womack will have a graveside service on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Halifax Baptist Church, 9159 Chatham Road, Vernon Hill, Virginia with last rites administered by Reverend Eddie Collins. The family will receive guests immediately following the graveside service.
