Willie Lee McKinney

Mr. Willie Lee McKinney of Halifax, VA passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023. He was born in Halifax County, VA on August 20, 1944 and was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Walter Daniel McKinney and the late Ruby Clara Cumbie McKinney and was married to the late Bonnie Clay McKinney. He was of the Baptist faith and loved playing blue grass gospel music. He enjoyed a good game of horseshoes and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was especially fond of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include: Two sons Addie Lee McKinney and wife Deborah of South Boston Len Clay of Alton Nine grandchildren He was also preceded in death by two sons, Melvin Edward McKinney and George McKinney, his sister, Dorothy Sadler, and his brothers, Walter Daniel McKinney, Wilson J. McKinney, and Glen Clay. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Oakland Cemetery at Scottsburg with Rev. Don Bryant officiating.
