Willie Robert Murray

Mr. Willie Robert Murray of South Boston, VA passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at his home. He was born in Halifax County on December 22, 1971 and was 53 years old. He was the son of the late William Elliott Murray and the late Remona Throckmorton Murray. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a former deliveryman for Lowe’s and Talbert’s Lumber in Roxboro. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, but his true passion was softball. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include: His daughter Brittney N. Murray and companion Austin Rice of South Boston. His sister, Melinda M. Long and husband Woody of South Boston. His companion Mary Bowes of South Boston.  A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was also preceded in death by a special soulmate, Tammy Seamster Bates.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church with Mitch Conner leading the service.
