Willie "Tommy" Thomas Francis, Jr.

Willie Thomas “Tommy” Francis, Jr. of Halifax, VA passed away October 20, 2020.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on August 16, 1965 and was 55 years of age. He was the son of Nancy Barksdale Francis and the late Willie “Billy” Francis, Sr.  He was married to Bobbi Lynn Balducci Francis who survives.

Tommy was a retired bus driver from the Halifax County School System. He was the owner and operator of Backwoods Auto Body Shop - his passion. He loved nothing more than to take an old car and restore it back to life, making it shine like new. He loved working with his hands, whether on the cars or building his own home and shop, he learned his building talents from his "Papa" Hula Barksdale. While he may be gone, he will always be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, friend, and "one of a kind guy."

A chapel service will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Bates officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home, 2177 Mountain Rd, Halifax, VA.
