Dorothy Kell Howerton

Dorothy Kell Howerton, 85 of South Boston, VA passed away peacefully on March 30, 2023.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on February 13, 1938 to the late Thornton Kell and the late Carrie Mae Woodall Kell.  She was first married to the late Raleigh Hagood Martin and later married to the late Cedric Howerton.

 

She was a member of First Crossroads Baptist Church.  She loved the   Lord, her church, and her Bible.  Dorothy was an exceptional wife, mother, and childcare provider.  She cared deeply for her family, neighbors, and children.  She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Dorothy will be remembered in love by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dan Ward officiating.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 2:45 at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Charlan Glass, 811 Greenway Dr., South Boston, VA 24592.
